How to build a visual schedule for your lesson

  1. 1

Add your lesson steps and how many minutes each one should take.

  2. 2

Press Start. The current step is highlighted with its own countdown.

  3. 3

When a step's time is up it chimes. Leave auto-advance on to move to the next step by itself, or move on when you are ready.

  4. 4

Pause, skip ahead or go back at any time. At the end, the board shows "Lesson complete".

What it does

  • Now and next at a glance

The current step is highlighted, and the steps still to come are listed below it.

  • A countdown for every step

Each step counts down its own minutes, so students can see how long is left in this part of the lesson.

  • Auto-advance or manual

A chime marks the end of each step. Let the schedule move on by itself, or keep control and move on when you choose.

  • Pause, next, previous

Discussion running long? Pause the schedule, jump ahead, or go back a step without starting again.

Ways teachers use it

Morning routine

Unpack, attendance, morning work, read-aloud. Students check the board instead of asking what is next.

Smoother transitions

Students who find change hard can see exactly how long each part lasts and what comes after it.

Workshop lessons

Mini-lesson, independent work, conferring, share. Keep each part on time without watching the clock yourself.
